Candescence

A structure for musical creation, production, and dissemination

Candescence develops contemporary music projects led by composer Victoire Yau, in collaboration with professional ensembles and guest performers.

Traversées

Candescence’s first creative project, Traversées is a cycle for cello quartet combining contemporary creation, artistic dissemination and encounters with audiences. Developed from the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, it is intended to gradually expand across Europe and Asia.

A creative process

Candescence supports the development of original musical works, from composition through to public performance. It includes:

• commissions of new works

• rehearsal sessions with professional ensembles

• concerts and performances

Its aim is to bridge musical composition, performance practice, and audience engagement.

Artistic direction

Candescence is founded and directed by composer Victoire Yau.

Openness

Candescence is open to collaborative projects with other composers and artists working in contemporary creation.

The association relies on direct support and partnerships to enable the production and dissemination of its musical projects.
